Although both an oil and pastel artist, pastels have been my medium of choice for many years. I find they lend softness for portraits of both people and pets and in landscape painting I can find a wide range of color to achieve both the vibrant color and the more subdued shades I need.

Much of my commissioned work is in both portraiture of people and pets and I also do commissioned work from photos of peoples homes or favorite photos they would like reproduced.

I enjoy plein air painting (painting outside landscapes on location). Traveling all over the U.S. I find inspiration for my art and complete many plein air pieces on my travels. Some of my favorite pieces are from Michigan landscape. When I cannot finish work on location I will do the preliminary work and then finish the painting in my studio.

I have a growing number of portraits and paintings in many institutions, businesses and homes throughout the United States. A list can be provided upon request.

COMMISSIONED PAINTINGS
After an initial consultation with the client about the painting to be done and choices of subject matter, size, medium, and photo resources - either provided by the client or taken by the artist of the subject or person(s), an agreed upon price can be determined by the artist and work can begin until a final approval of the finished painting by the client is reached.
